Brian Madden is a self-taught interdisciplinary artist known for his novel use of marble and remnant artifacts to create sculpture, furniture, and paintings with an elevated yet playful tone. His artwork references cultural symbols and natural inspiration with bold, unexpected uses of material and color.
Bringing a collaborative approach to his creative process, Brian partners with fabricators, collectors, and brands to explore new techniques and bring imaginative concepts to life. His studio practice is informed by his experience as an industrial and environmental designer leading projects to activate iconic global brands.
Brian’s time-based work Six Months in Dogpatch was displayed at The de Young Open 2023, Fine Art Museums of San Francisco’s triennial juried survey of Bay Area art.
Brian’s studio is based in San Francisco’s Dogpatch historic neighborhood.
