Broken, Together. Nero Marquina & Carrara Marble Assemblage, 2020.

As I sketched different heart shapes to cut from some remnant marble slabs, the water jet shop owner said that a broken heart would mean so much more than an intact one. He said he’d been through it all in his day. And I really felt that.
